Registration for the Vineland Public Library's Summer Reading Program begins tomorrow!

Registration for our summer reading program begins tomorrow, June 1. Did you know that children who don’t read during the summer typically lose three months of reading achievement? By the time children reach middle school, a summer reading loss of three months accumulates to a crucial two-year gap. (McGill-Franzen, Anne and Richard Allington. (2003, May/June). Bridging the Summer Reading Gap. Scholastic Instructor, 18.)

Help your children bridge the reading gap and bring them to our library programs.

Call (856) 794-4244, ext 4246 for details.

Review: Fearless, Imagine your life without fear by Max Lucado

We all live with fear these days, and as we go through life would'nt it be nice to recognize it when it comes. Max exposes the fears and helps us to overcome those fears to have a life filled with joy and happiness.

Review: Push (Precious) by Sapphire

The book was great-but graphic. Be prepared for language and sexual content. I watched the movie before/ ordered the book, as usual it was so much better for me the book had to be read in stages. it was to to take in all at once. The characters seem so real and sad. Great book, there is hope at the end.

Available in the fiction section FIC Sapphire on DVD: DVDE 7205, 7206, 7207

There is no registration, just fill out the yellow review form and return it. It's as simple as that for a chance to win a variety of fiction and non-fiction books, gifts cards to Rita's Water Ice, Friendly's and other Vineland stores!

A grand prize drawing will be held from all eligible entries received—the more you read, the more chances you have of winning! So pull out that library card and enjoy!

The Summer Reading Giveaway is sponsored by the Friends of the Vineland Public Library. This program is limited to adults 18 and over who complete all required lines of the entry form.
