Get a Head Start on Summer Reading
Do you have a summer reading assignment for school? Not sure what to read? Visit the Vineland Public Library and ask one of the reference or children's librarians for some suggestions.
We have worked in collaboration with Vineland Public Schools to develop lists for students entering 6th, 7th and 8th grade as well as high school. For a list of titles and assignments, visit the Vineland Public Schools website here. Scroll about halfway down the page for links to the assignments according to grade. I'll also be posting the lists on this blog over the next few days.
Please note that while Vineland Public School students must read at least one book, it doesn't have to be a book from the list (unless otherwise indicated in the assignment). Students may pick any title that is deemed age appropriate.
Vineland Public School students in Kindergarten through 5th grade are also required to read at least one book but do not have to complete a written assignment. Please see Children's Department staff for recommended books.
Not a Vineland Public School student? Never fear! We have many book lists from other area schools on hand for your perusal. Or bring in your list of books from school and we'll help you find the titles that you need.
