6:30 – 7:30 p.m. “The Good Old Days at the Steel Pier!” presented by Don French.
The Friends of Vineland Library invite the public to their annual meeting followed by a free program featuring “The Good Old Days at the Steel Pier” presented by Don French. The annual meeting takes place on Tuesday, June 7 at 6:00 p.m. with the program following at 6:30 p.m. in the library's Community Event Room located on the first floor of the library. Refreshments will be served.
Presenter Don French’s mother and aunt rode the Steel Pier Diving Horses. The Disney movie, Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken, was based on events in the life of French’s aunt Sonora Carver. Don’t miss a walk down memory lane as French shares video footage, photos and stories about the Steel Pier during the 1920s – 1940s.
The Friends of Vineland Library are an active group. They do fund-raising events throughout the year to supplement the library’s budget. The Friends provide many of the library’s “wish list” items like additional copies of best sellers and programming for adults and children.
